Wamakko inaugurates FG’s 60KWs solar power project in Torankawa

THE Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum,  Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  on Tuesday, inaugurated a 60 Kilo Watts Solar Photovoltaic Connected Mini-Grid Project in Torankawa town, Yabo Local Government of Sokoto State.

The Model Project was successfully executed by the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, while it was funded by the Sovereign Green Fund, under a Public-Private Partnership Agreement.

According to a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  Bashir Rabe Mani and issued to newsmen in Sokoto.

Senator Wamakko described the project as part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s unrelenting commitment to bolster the welfare, security and comfort of Nigerians, especially the masses and the rural dwellers.

He added, “President Muhammadu Buhari is totally and religiously committed to bettering the lives of Nigerians in all respects, just as the importance of adequate power supply cannot in any way be overemphasized.

“President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a pat on the back, as well as truly deserves to be re-elected by Nigerians, for him to consolidate on his current invaluable achievements.”

Senator Wamakko, further noted that the project would drastically transform the socio-economic lives of the people of the community.

He appealed to the residents of the community to jealously guard the project by using it wisely, as well as protecting it from vandalism.

Also speaking, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development,  said the pilot project would boost the trading and social activities of the residents of the community.

The District Head of Torankawa, Alhaji Umaru Mohammed Maishanu lauded the Federal Government for the invaluable gesture and promised that the residents would use the project judiciously,  as well as jealousy.
