Yaibimi, who described politicians encouraging vote- buying as desperate, advised voters to allow popularity, administrative experience and empowerment strategies to inform them of the proper choice of leadership and not money.
He handed down this advise at the PDP secretariat in Yenagoa yesterday after summiting his nomination and indication of interest form.
Yaibimi who is vying for the SILGA constituency 1 seat also appealed to his constituents to vote in a candidate that is capable of giving them quality and effective representation at the assembly, saying that is the only way they would enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He furthermore appealed to stakeholders and delegates of the party from his constituency to ensure he is supported and given the flag at the party primaries, assuring that he will win at the general elections long before the ballot is counted.
“Vote- buying is a phenomenon that is in existence now because of the peculiarities of the Nigerian politics, the people feel there’s a disconnect between the governed and the government, so during elections they collect monies knowing fully well that they’ll never get such monies again when the politicians win.”
