Speaking before the commencement of the test, the director of the school, Mrs Funsho Adegbola, said that the opportunity was available to students who are ready to work hard and excel in life.
She added that the scholarship scheme was specifically meant for Cambridge International GCE Advanced Level students.
“Education is not only about acquisition of knowledge, but also about embracing the societal, moral and family values. The legacy my parents left behind is not about family alone, it also involves social values.
“The scholarship scheme is awarded on behalf of my late parents who greatly valued education. I cannot count the number of indigent people my parents had assisted to access good education,” she said.
She noted that the participants came from public schools. “The reason why we are extending the gesture to the brilliant, but indigent students is that when they make it in life, they too will be able to assist others,” she added.
On her part, the 2019 beneficiary of the scheme, Miss Abiola Salau, said that it was a viable scheme that had made her a better person in life.
Salau, urged the incoming beneficiaries to brace up, have faith in God and be prepared for the task ahead.
Other past beneficiaries of the scheme included Maryam Adeyanju, Boluwatife Adewale, Morufat Tijani, Tobi Ogundare, Toluwanimi Lazarus, Mercy Okunola, Hamed Babatunde, Emmanuel Arthur, Odunayo Ogunleye and Christiana Joel.
