African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in 2019 election in Oyo State, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, has joined other well-wishers to congratulate the Nigerian Tribune on its platinum anniversary.
Lanlehin, in a letter of felicitations addressed to the chairperson of the newspaper, Dr Olatokunbo Awolowo Dosumu, commended the newspaper for not wavering, since its establishment 70 years ago, in its defence of democracy, humanity and the rule of law as seen through its news stories, analyses, commentaries and column articles.
“Since its debut on Wednesday, November 16, 1949, the Nigerian Tribune and its sister publications-Saturday Tribune and Sunday Tribune have been at the vanguard of progressive journalism, defending the interests of the masses and articulating brilliant ideas and pathways visionary leaders should tread.

“Sincerely, one should not be in doubt that the traditions of courage, sincerity and patriotism have been the hallmark of the Nigerian Tribune, when one remembers that a pattern will always resemble the cloth from which it is cut and a true born, the family from which he descends.
“With Chief Obafemi Awolowo GCFR, SAN, behind such lofty vision and its managers diligently pursuing the vision, one can only praise the foresight of the sage and the dedication of the board, management and staff, in ensuring The Nigerian Tribune retains its pride of place in the Nigerian press.
“As you celebrate 70 years of informing, educating and entertaining the Nigerian public, sometimes doing so at great cost to personal liberty, one can only pray that the Almighty God will continue to guide and guard you in the discharge of the onerous duties, particularly as the fourth estate of the realm.
“Count on me as a worthy partner in our common quest for the advancement of humanity and do have a blissful celebration,” the ADC chieftain said.“
