A list celebrating six influential Nigerian entrepreneurs who have had notable impact on the world of international business in 2023 has identified Dr. Jefferey Obomeghie, owner of the International Hospitality Institute, as one of its awardees for 2023.
The Global Impact Makers list, dedicated to promoting African business owners breaking frontiers on world stage, curates and updates an annual list of Nigerian change makers.
The list, released on Wednesday, December 13, identified Adebayo Ogunlesi, Chinedu Echeruo, Jeffrey Obomeghie, Mo Abudu, Tony Elumelu and Tope Awotona as some of its honourees.
Speaking to Nigerian Tribune, Jade Kemi, the Manager, International Hospitality Institute, speaking on the honour, said that “We are excited to see that this year’s list which includes our Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Jeffrey Obomeghie. It shows that the world is watching and we are poised for more impact.”
Dr. Jeffrey Obomeghie (known to many as Dr. Jeffrey O) is the founder and CEO of the International Hospitality Institute. He is the Chairman of the Board at St. Justine Hotels and Residences where he serves on the board with Horst Schulze, co-founder, and former Chief Operating Officer of the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company.
Dr. Jeffrey Obomeghie was recognized in 2023 as one of the Top Ten Most Influential People in Hospitality by the Business Anecdote Magazine, a media outlet based in London. In 2023, he received the Pan African American Leadership Award (PAALA) from the African Women Leadership Organization (AWLO), and the Icon of the Year (Hospitality) from the Pyne Africa Awards.
Dr. Jeffrey Obomeghie is the founder of the International Hospitality Hall of Fame®. He has published several books of fiction and nonfiction. He attended the University of Lagos and the University of Maryland UC College where he studied political science. He obtained his Ph.D. from Johnson University and was admitted to Columbia University New York for a master’s degree in Adult Leadership and Education in 2023.
