THE National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, have described Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko as a strong pillar President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the All Progressive Congress.
Speaking separately when they visited Wamakko at his Gawon Nama, residence, Sokoto, the duo acknowledged, such sustainable and invaluable support and sacrifice being rendered by the former Governor of Sokoto state were greatly facilitating national peace, unity and socioeconomic prosperity.
This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani and issued to newsmen in Sokoto.
According to Tinubu, “Senator Wamakko is a man I respect so much and he strongly believes in teams. He has developed other leaders, for today and tomorrow.
“He is also extremely dependable. Whatever you are doing with him, you will be the one to disappoint him. He is a serious believer in the unity of Nigeria.

“We have always worked together and we will continue to do so. If I come to Sokoto and I have not visited him in his house, it means I have not come to Sokoto, meaning that, such a visit would be incomplete.”
The APC national leader, who went down memory lane recalled, “In 2015, it took only one phone call to him, to give Governor Tambuwal the Gubernatorial ticket and that phone call came from me and the rest is now history.”
The former Governor of Lagos State further vowed, “we will continue to stand with Senator Wamakko, as well as work with him.”
On the forthcoming general elections, Senator Tinubu admonished the APC Gubernatorial Candidate in the
state, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, to rely on a good leader in the person of Senator Wamakko.
He said: “Senator Wamakko has remained resolute and focussed in spite of some seemingly formidable challenges, as such, you have a reliable Father in him.
“Leadership is a divine responsibility, as God gives and takes leadership to Whosoever He wishes and at the time He wishes.
“I believe Sokoto is safe. We just need to get more votes out so that we can help absorb other areas of weakness.
“Nigeria will make progress as it is already on a solid foundation built by leaders like Senator Wamakko. We will always be with him.”
Responding, Senator Wamakko extolled the invaluable contributions of the APC national leader, averring, “Sokoto is proud of you and we have high esteem in you.
“We have been with you and we will remain with you. You are a doing a great job for Nigeria.”
Meanwhile, Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has described Senator Wamakko as a highly dependable friend, colleague and brother.
Speaking when he led a high powered delegation from Kano on a solidarity visit to Senator Wamakko, Dr Ganduje commended Senator Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, for his sustained support and
cooperation to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“His worthy and emulative fatherly role at the Senate is also highly commendable. His contributions to the promulgation of people-oriented laws,
entrenchment of democracy, as well as ensuring the security of Nigeria are superb.
“Senator Wamakko is also deeply and patriotically committed to the even socioeconomic development of the north and Nigeria, in general.”
Also speaking, the Secretary -General of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Barau Jibrin noted that Senator Wamakko remains a reliable and a solid pillar for the Senate, as well as the National Assembly, in general.
In the same vein, Kano State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, expressed happiness that, Kano and
Sokoto States have unshakeably remained strong States for the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari.
Responding, Senator Wamakko stated that, the brotherly visit has further strengthened the existing cordial relations between the two states.
Senator Wamakko further noted, ” the high powered delegation that includes all those who matter in Kano State in all spheres of human lives, is a strong indication that the state is entirely an APC State.
“We at the eighth Senate have adopted dialogue and the spirit of giving and take, rather than violence and rancour.
“We will continue to be fair and just to Nigerians. The masses of Nigeria have no other party, but the APC.”
