Nigerian Tribune gathered that the suspected robbers attacked the bush meat supplier, one Jumoke Ogungbade, who had gone to the area to meet one of her suppliers.
It was further learnt that as the robbery operation was going on, policemen attached to the Owode-Egba Division were alerted, and they promptly moved in to save the situation.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement made available to TribuneOnline, confirmed the incident.
DSP Oyeyemi said when the police received the information, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Owode Egba Division, CSP Sheu Alao, led his anti-robbery team to the scene, where they engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel, which lasted for about 30 minutes.
