Reprieve came the way of kidnapped staffers of Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State on Thursday when they were released by their abductors
It is recalled that the victims, comprising of two males and female staffers were abducted around Idominasi community of Obokun local government area of Osun State on Monday.
They were said to be traveling from Ilesa to Osogbo when their vehicle was ambushed and the occupants were kidnapped by four men wielding guns and other dangerous weapons.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Osun Police Command, Mrs. Folasade Odoro shortly after the incident, she explained that “the vehicle conveying two males and a female was reportedly blocked and the occupants were abducted by about four men welding gunĀ wearing military and vigilante uniforms.”
“Recovered at the scene was an army cap reasonably suspected to belong to one of the suspects. Meanwhile, dragnet has been spread out with a view to safely rescue the victims and bring the culprits to book.”
However, the PPRO confirmed the release of the abducted workers to.journalists in Osogbo.

Odoro hinted that “the victims had been released, our men worked tirelessly to secure their release.Ā Give me more time to get details of what happened, I will get back.”
But, calls put through cell phone of the Registrar of Bowen University, Iwo, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, were not answered as of the time of filing this report.
