…as 100 officers begin capacity-building training
Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), in partnership with Top Private Security Services Limited, has commenced a three-day capacity-building training for 100 personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Tantita operatives.
The training, which began on Tuesday in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, is focused on strengthening effective security coordination for the protection of critical national infrastructure, particularly oil and gas pipelines.
In his opening remarks, the Managing Director of TSSNL, High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Pondi, represented by the General Manager (Security), Brigadier-General Efe Dafioghor (rtd), described the programme as both timely and imperative.
“As the Executive Director Technical noted, we have worked hard to ensure the pipelines are green, and the MD commends you for that.
“The more you keep the pipelines green, the more you enhance the natural resources that sustain the nation,” Dafioghor said.
He explained that the training was designed to expose participants to best practices in pipeline surveillance, intelligence gathering, operations, and health, safety and environment (HSE), while also fostering stronger cooperation between the NSCDC, Tantita, and other sister security agencies.
Earlier, Executive Director (Operations and Technical), Captain Warredi Enisuoh, represented by Head of Technical, Rolland Isereke, recalled the massive efforts undertaken since 2022 to secure the creeks of the Niger Delta.
He stated that all major pipelines under Tantita’s watch are now “green”, meaning free of infractions.
“When we say they are all green, it means there are no breaches. Illegal refineries have been reduced to almost zero — and that is because of you sitting here.
“Without your efforts, we would not have achieved this,” he said, while thanking the Army, Navy, and NSCDC for their collaboration.
Enisuoh urged participants to take the training seriously, noting that it goes beyond patrol duties to practical approaches in handling suspects and enhancing professionalism.
He disclosed that Tantita had recently acquired surveillance drones with flight capacity of 10–16 hours to boost security operations in the creeks.
“These drones will make your work easier. We know the risks you face daily, including gun battles with criminal elements. That is why we collaborate with the military and other agencies,” he explained.
He stressed that as a private security company, Tantita is not licensed to bear arms, hence the continued partnership with the Army, Navy, Air Force, and NSCDC for armed support — a collaboration he said had been “hugely successful”.
