Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to intensify its efforts toward combating insecurity in Sokoto State and the country at large.
The former Sokoto State Governor made this statement on Tuesday when he visited the Palace of the District Head of Shagari to condole with the community over recent banditry attacks and flooding.
He re-emphasized that securing lives and properties should be the top priority for governments at all levels, stating, “Insecurity is everybody’s business and should never be politicized.”
He noted that “Even the current food shortage is a direct result of insecurity.
“I am sure that the restoration of peace would lead to increased food availability.”
He further implored all stakeholders to join forces in tackling the insecurity plaguing the state, advocating a collective effort to nip the menace in the bud.

Regarding the Shagari Dam, Tambuwal promised to continue advocating for Federal Government intervention, as he did during his previous roles as Speaker of the House of Representatives and Governor.
He assured the community that relief materials would be provided once NEMA completes its assessment of damaged houses and properties.
Accompanied by PDP leadership in Sokoto State, Tambuwal appealed to the people of Shagari to support and cooperate with authorities and security agencies to restore peace in the area. He prayed to Almighty Allah to prevent the recurrence of such dastardly incidents.
In his remarks, the District Head of Shagari, represented by the Wakilin Marafan, expressed appreciation to the Senator for his solidarity with the people of Shagari during this period.
