Supreme Court Verdict: APC CECPC secures heavy police presence at party secretariat

Members of staff of the All Progressives Congress returned to work, on Monday, to sight heavy police presence along the sprawling Blantyre street in Abuja, where the national secretariat of the party is located.

Staff were being allowed in while visitors were frisked before being allowed into the party secretariat.

A party source told Tribune Online that the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee got wind of a plan by certain chieftains of the party to organise a protest against the continued stay in office of the Governor Mai Mala Buni led Caretaker Committee.

He further told Tribune Online that the chieftains who lost out in the recently conducted ward congresses are plotting to instigate violent protest.

He said: “They want to hide under the guise of the varied interpretations trailing the Supreme Court judgement on the eligibility of Yobe State governor, Mala Buni, to continue to hold sway as acting national chairman to foment crisis.”
