The suit was instituted by the former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mahadi Aliyu Gusau and the state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) before the Abuja court. asking the court to remove Governor Bello Matawalle over his defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) suffered a setback.
When the case came up on Thursday, before Justice Ekwo Iyang, the presiding judge refused to hear the application.
According to the presiding judge, his attention had been drawn to a pending application by some applicants interested in the subsisting matter.
He, therefore, adjourned the case to 29th April, 2022 for a hearing.
Meanwhile, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said they will remain law-abiding until they case is heard and justice delivered.
A statement issued by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Yusuf Idris Gusau and made available to the Nigerian Tribune on Thursday said notwithstanding the number of litigations against the governor and the party, the APC led government will continue to provide dividends of democracy to the citizens of the state.
The statement urged the people of the state to continue to give their maximum support to the APC government under Governor Bello Matawalle.
