Shoes say a lot about who you are hence the need to pay special attention to this fashion accesory. The truth is, your shoe will make people to shoo you or give you a second look.
They are therefore a very important part of dressing every man should be cautious of. Whether you are on your way to a friend’s place, to a meeting, to the office, to an event, or on a date, a right shoe for the right occassion gives you a complete look.
Perchance you come across a woman that attracts you at a bachelor’s party and you’re on sandals, how awkward will this be? One thing she will surely check out is what you have on your feet.
Here are seven golden rules to follow when it comes to men’s shoes:
- Formal shoes for the formals: When going to the the office, meetings, or any formal occasion, you should use a formal shoe. Black or brown shoes are best for this purpose. Formal shoes include the likes of Oxfords, Saddle shoes, Dress boots, and Custom made shoes.
- Loafers and Boat Tops to the dates: Going for a date? Then go for the Boat Tops or the Loafers. Not only that, when hanging out with friends, going to the bar or cinema these shoes are nice options. You can be on loafers all day and still feel comfortable. These shoes go well on dress pants and jeans. The most important thing is that they should be worn without socks.
- Sneakers are sporty: Sneakers are seen on men at the office, restaurant, even parties, only if they know that sneakers are exclusively for sporting. At the pitch, playing soccer, tennis, softball, or volleyball, sneakers are perfect. You can also use them for your morning exercise.
- Flip flops should flip their flops in the home: It is very common to see men, especially young men, on flip flops in the middle of the street in the name of ‘palms’. Flip flops- slip-ons, slippers, ‘palms’, crocs, and the likes should be used in the home alone and nowhere else.
- Invest in quality: You may not have the money to buy expensive shoes but buying the cheap ones is a real waste of money. The cheap ones are held together with glue and made with materials that don’t age well so; you can buy fifteen shoes in two years if you patronise them. Why not save in the long term and buy two shoes you will use for fifteen years?
