Social media is killing this generation —Rudeboy

Published by

Against the backdrop of the arrest of Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Raymond Abass, famously known as Hushpuppi, by Dubai Police for his alleged involvement in internet scam, Rudeboy of the defunct Psquare group, has expressed his fears over the wrong effect of social media on today’s generation of youths.

Rudeboy who is also very popular on Instagram for showing off his wealth and lifestyles said many young people always believe the luxurious lifestyles of many social media celebrities and tend to believe what they see.

The singer who was alarmed by the mind-boggling amount said to have been traced to Hushpuppi said he was worried about the way many people would jump onto the dangerous trend being set on social media platforms and ignore hard work, saying that “social media will kill this generation.”

He urged youths to shun internet fraud and focus on making their lives meaningful through legal means, adding that” It is only a matter of time before the alarm go sound. Social media is dangerous but many people keep toeing the path of destruction” he said.

“Always be real to yourself because fake life is expensive. Make sure you are successful in real life not the other way round.”

After parting ways with his twin brother, Peter Okoye, the singer dropped his Paul Okoye brand and adopted Rudeboy as part of his plans to set his solo career in motion, but many people believe they have both been struggling  to live up to expectations after their famous separation some years back.
