The Rotary Club of Ibadan-Jericho Metro, in collaboration with the George Aid Foundation, Houston, Texas, USA, fed no fewer than 100 staff members of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) on Thursday.
The annual food outreach, held on the premises of the station, is aimed at junior, casual, and retired employees of the organization.
Speaking at the event, the President of the Club, Rotarian Salisu Afolabi, said that Rotary is a club dedicated to serving humanity, and it is their responsibility to look after the well-being of their neighbors.
He thanked the management of BCOS for allowing them to undertake the project, saying, “Whatever we do here, we do it because it is our obligation to serve humanity without expecting anything in return, but to positively impact the lives of those around us.”
“We have been doing this for over four years, and it’s not limited to any specific section or organization; we do it according to the needs of our people.

“We have a sponsor named Ken Sarah George with whom we collaborate to present this annual food outreach. We decided to provide uncooked food items this year, which will last longer than the processed ones we had given in the past.”
In his remarks, the General Manager of BCOS, Mr. Goke Adelakun, praised the Rotary Club for their gesture and encouraged the beneficiaries of the outreach to consider joining the club.
He said, “We thank the representatives of the Rotary Club of Ibadan-Jericho Metro for allowing us to benefit from this annual outreach.
We have been benefiting from the Rotary Club in recent years, and I must thank them for today’s gesture.
“Rotary is a club that everyone should join, regardless of social class, as long as you have a passion for humanity.”
Meanwhile, a representative of the beneficiaries, Elder Idowu Adewusi, a retired staff member of the station, commended the club, the management of BCOS, and the Radio, Television, Theatre, and Arts Workers’ Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), BCOS chapter, for making the outreach a success.
