The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen on Monday expressed the 10th Assembly’s readiness to work with the leadership of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) towards a better judicial system for the country.
Speaker Abbas gave the assurance via a congratulatory message to the newly elected President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
According to the statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker also extended his congratulations to all the newly elected members of the national executive council of the NBA, which is the umbrella body of lawyers in the bar in Nigeria.
He commended the NBA and its members for conducting peaceful elections, while also congratulating the outgoing NBA President, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau (SAN), for his successful tenure.
He wished the newly elected NBA leadership a successful tenure as they get set to take over in the coming weeks.
The Speaker also pledged the parliament’s resolve to partner with the new NBA leadership towards addressing challenges affecting the legal profession.
