THE Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) has Salamatu Baba Tunzwang, as the new Executive Secretary of the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN).
A statement by REAN’s Head of Communications, Chioma Ome, stated that “Salamatu Baba Tunzwang is a seasoned project manager and business development consultant with almost two decades of cross-cutting experience. Her work experience spans across telecom, banking, and development sectors.
“She started her career in the telecoms sector with MTN and Globacom Nigeria where she quickly rose to mid-management and thereafter transitioned to the financial sector as Branch Manager in both Ecobank and Sterling Bank where she managed the World Bank and Islamic Development Bank project funds.
“Her passion for the poor and vulnerable in society and the desire to positively impact humanity led her to switch career paths from the financial sector to the development sector where she worked with notable players in the development space such as Society for Family Health, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Palladium Nigeria.

“She led JICA’s implementation of 5s-Kaizen as a tool for a continuous health improvement project in FCT and Lagos and supported JICA’s Solar electrification project at the Osuma dam.
“Salamatu is an amiable bridge builder who has facilitated several partnerships and promoted collaborations in the public and private sectors; she led the collaboration of the Propcom Mai-karfi and GIZ resilience and livelihood project and other private sector collaborations with Total Exploration Nigeria.
“She is a tenacious goal-getter who is open to taking on new challenges as she views every challenge as a learning curve and opportunity and to perform even better, her willingness to take on challenges has seen her transitioned across telecoms, banking, health, and agricultural sector. She brings her wealth of experience in the renewable energy space as the new Executive Secretary for REAN.
