ALL is set for the fourth anniversary of Qudus Onikeku’s The QDance Centre on Saturday, July 28 at Glover Memorial Hall, Marina, Lagos.
The event, which is open to all art and dance lovers, will also feature the Nigerian premiere of the dance company’s latest production entitled ‘Yuropa’.
Choreographed by Onikeku with music by Olatunde Obajeun and featuring BusayoOlowu, Deborah Aiyegbeni and ChibuezeIyele, Yuropa tells the story of three young travelers who head to an unknown destination overseas. The four-person piece focusses on the difficulties and troubles linked to migration, specifically those who take to the roads, as the last chance for self-preservation.
Yuropa was originally premiered in Bremen, Germany on May 21, 2018, and toured briefly in various cities in Germany.
According to Onikeku who is popularly called Qudus, the fourth anniversary “will be an evening of performances, both new and previous works, and a brief presentation of our programs for the seasons 2018-2020.”
