Prisons Service trains staff on Case Management System

THE Plateau Command of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) has embarked on the training of its personnel on Case Management System of inmates in its command.

The three-day training organised for staff of Record and Administrative Departments attracted participants from all prison formations within the command.

Declaring the workshop open, the Controller of the Command, Mr Noel Ailewon, said the training was timely and necessary, as part of measures to upgrade the skills of its personnel.

He said the training would avail the personnel the requisite knowledge on handling inmates’ database and transmission.

“This training is timely as administration globally is transiting from analogue to digital, occasioned by computerisation of administrative processes and transmissions via the internet.

“This workshop will place you in a vantage position to execute your routine task; especially in areas of inmate data management and transmission.

“At the end of this workshop, it means that this command is fully ready for the implementation of Case Management System in all our administrative dealings.”

The controller further urged participants to optimally apply knowledge gained from the training in their routine duties.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ICT-driven Case Management System is a multi-user, interactive database management system designed to update, automate and fast-track decision-making across institutions within the Criminal Justice System.

NAN also reports that the workshop was facilitated by the ICT Unit of the command.
