American YouTuber, Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, has announced his engagement to girlfriend Thea Booysen.
The YouTuber shared the joyous news on Wednesday, revealing that he recently proposed.
“Ya boy did a thing,” MrBeast wrote on Instagram, accompanying a photo of the heartfelt moment where he knelt mid-proposal.
His partner, Booysen also shared the occasion with her followers, posting a video on her Instagram page showcasing her diamond engagement ring.
According to CNN, while speaking to People magazine, Booysen shared that Donaldson popped the question on Christmas Day, surrounded by their families.
“My family flew out from South Africa for Christmas and we were going to do Christmas in our house so both families were here,” she revealed. “We were opening presents, and then for the very last present he asked me to close my eyes because it was a surprise.” She added that she “of course” said yes and was “extremely excited.”
The couple’s story began in 2022 when they met through a mutual friend in South Africa, Booysen’s home country.
Reflecting on their first meeting, MrBeast said, “When we were first introduced, it came through right away how brilliant Thea is. I knew within the first few minutes of meeting that I wanted the chance to date her. Thankfully, she also felt a strong connection.”
That same year, they went public with their relationship, making their red carpet debut at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and later confirming their romance on Instagram.
MrBeast who has 340 million subscribers on YouTube has become a household name through his wildly popular YouTube channel.
