
OPERATIVES of the Delta State Police Command have apprehended an 18-year-old, Emeka Ezeonyi, allegedly involved in burglary and pilfering of items from the home of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, representing Delta North at the upper chamber.
Emeka, described as a budding notorious criminal, was arrested in collaboration with the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team on Tuesday, October 24.
The teen was also accused of involving in a series of burglaries and stealing cases in the residences of many other identified prominent personalities in Asaba, Owerri, Makurdi and Enugu metropolis.
Image maker of the command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said the suspect hailed from Umuchu village in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He added that the suspect had already claimed responsibility for burglary and stealing of phones, laptops and cash in the Asaba residence of Senator Nwaoboshi and many others in the state.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Zanna Ibrahim, has commended the officers who effected the arrest of the suspect.
According to a statement signed by DSP Aniamaka, the CP expressed delight for the tactical intelligence deployed to effect the arrest of the suspect.
