About five people have been interrogated by detectives from the Ondo State Police Command over the killing of a 300-level female student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ifeoluwa Adekunle.
The young girl was reportedly found dead in a pool of blood in her off-campus hostel and was suspected to have been stabbed to death by unknown assailants.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmi Odunlami, who disclosed this, said those invited for questioning were the neighbours of the victim.
Odunlami assured that police detectives from the state would soon unmask those behind the murder of the student, assuring that the killers would be brought to book.
The body of the victim, said to be in the Department of Economics, was found dead in a pool of her blood last weekend in her room.
She was allegedly attacked by her killers at her residence, which was off campus.
A student who spoke with newsmen said, “We found her in the pool of her blood in her room. She was stabbed to death by yet-to-be-identified persons who came visiting.
“We know this is not a cult-related issue, as some people are propagating. We have reported the murder case to the police, but it seems they are slow to respond to our demands for identifying and tracking those behind this dastardly act.
“We are imploring the Ondo State government to please look into the matter and ensure that the deceased gets justice.
Another source said that the killing of the student was so scary and had caused apprehension among other students in the institution.
