Police arrest 44 suspects for armed robbery, others in Kano

Kano state police command has arrested 44 suspected criminals in connection with various crimes.

The suspects were arrested during clearance operations by a team of Operation Restore Peace led by CSP Bashir Musa Gwadabe, Officer in Charge of Anti-Daba Squad, in the last ten days of the month of the fasting period of Ramadan.

The State Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO), SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa disclosed this on Thursday, saying that a large number of dangerous weapons and Illicit drugs were recovered during the raids.

These suspects from various addresses within Kano Metropolis were arrested in possession of dangerous weapons, illicit drugs, robbed and stolen properties.

According to him, the command has declares total war against thuggery, drug abuse and all forms of criminalities especially the menace of thuggery and other social vices.

The PPRO, however, added that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of an investigation.
