The commendation is for the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division/Commander, Operation Safe Haven, Jos, Major-General A. E. Abubakar, who has demonstrated unwavering efforts to restore and maintain peace in Plateau State.
The praise comes from the President of the Northern Youths Association of Nigeria (NYAN), Ambassador Godiya T. Adams Bogoro, in a press release issued in Bauchi on Sunday.
Adams Bogoro highlighted Major General AE Abubakar’s remarkable performance since his redeployment as the GOC of the 3 Division/Commander of Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State.
He mentioned that the GOC organised a symposium for religious leaders in the state, recognising their role in fostering peace.
Furthermore, Adams Bogoro pointed out the improved civilian-military relationship in Plateau State under Major General Abubakar’s leadership.
He also acknowledged the GOC’s significant humanitarian efforts, such as donating food items to victims of insurgency in Mangu and parts of Riyom following a recent attack.
The NYAN President expressed his pride in Major General Abubakar’s accomplishments and assured that the association would continue to collaborate with the military to maintain the relative peace achieved in the state.
The association recognised Major General Abubakar’s commitment to the welfare of the officers and men under his command, as he provides them with an enabling environment to operate.
The President recalled that the GOC took injured military officers to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for full medical treatment following a recent bandit attack, demonstrating his support and care for his troops.
Adams Bogoro encouraged all officers and men within the division to continue supporting the GOC’s efforts to ensure peaceful coexistence in Plateau State and the broader areas under the Division.
