PEPC Judgment: Ex-Kano PDP Rep contestants sue for calm among party members

The Forum of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Contestants for the House of Representatives in the 2023 general elections in Kano State, has called on members of the party nationwide to remain focused and calm as they await the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).

This was just as the group said that the group had high hopes that the court would do the needful in its verdict as the judiciary is the last hope of the common man.

Making the call on Wednesday in Kano, the Chairman of the Forum, Engr Ahmed Dagumawa, while addressing a press conference at the NUJ Press Centre said the result and outcome of the ruling would be good.

He noted that going by what unfolded at the tribunal and various evidence presented by the PDP and its lawyers, the outcome will be favourable to the presidential candidate of the party

According to him, the Presidential candidate of PDP, Abubakar Atiku, was on Tuesday at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) as parties were set to adopt their final written addresses.

He noted that the adoption of final addresses is the precursor to fixing a date for judgment in the petition of Atiku and the PDP challenging the outcome of the Feb. 25 presidential election.

Dagumawa, however, disclosed that “As a democrat, we are calling the attention of members of our great party, PDP, nationwide, to be calm and remain the good people who abide by the Nigerian rules and laws and to wait for the judgement.

He hinted that “We are expecting a very positive and good verdict that would enhance the dignity of the judicial system of this country,”

“You can see what the people were passing through in the hand of the ruling party, as the downtrodden masses were seriously in pain and hardship

While commenting on the alleged division among members of the PDP in the state, the Forum said it was not aware of any faction within the ranks of the party adding that the PDP is one indivisible party, that exit of any individual can not break its formidable force.
