
A former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West zone, Chief ‘Pegba Otemolu, has resigned from the umbrella party and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Otemolu, who was chairman of Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State during Otunba Gbenga Daniel administration, thanked the PDP for the opportunity given him to serve in various levels of leadership.
In his resignation letter dated June 1, addressed to the chairman of the party in Ward 8 of Ikenne Local Government Area and copied to the party chairmen at the local government and state, the former zonal secretary commended the cooperation he enjoyed while his membership lasted.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that Otemolu, who is a close ally of Senator Buruji Kashamu, is eyeing Ogun East Senatorial district seat in 2019, a position currently being held by Kashamu.
It was also gathered the former PDP zonal secretary has decided to team up with Gboyega Isiaka for the realisation of the latter’s governorship ambition.
Isiaka, it will be recalled, dumped also the PDP for ADC about four weeks ago, with a view to clinching the ADC governorship ticket.
