A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State Alhaji Ganiyu Olanrewaju, popularly known as ‘Baba DG is dead.
The executive chairman of Oluyole LG, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, in a statement confirmed his death.
He expressed his grief over the loss, describing Baba DG as a pillar of wisdom and commitment to the party’s growth.
In his tribute to the contained in a condolence message when he visited the deceased family at Olomi area of the Council, Olatunji praised Baba DG’s lifelong dedication to grassroots politics.
He equally emphasised the role of the late PDP leader in uniting party members and deepening political stability in the local government.

“Baba DG was more than a party leader; he was a father figure and an epitome of hope to many. His contributions to the PDP and the Oluyole local government will forever remain in our hearts,” Olatunji said.
He noted further that Baba DG’s passing left a void that would be difficult to fill as a grassroots mobilizer, and urged party members to honor his memory by continuing the work he passionately devoted his life to.
Olatunji however, made cash donations to support the deceased family and urged other privileged members of the PDP in Oluyole to rally round them during and after their period of grieving.
Also in attendance at the bereaved private residence were the PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja, lawmaker representing Oluyole state constituency at the House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, Oluyole LG PDP Chairman, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, and a host of other party chieftains.
