The Oyo State Child Protection Network (CPN) has distributed relief items to 32 homes and organisations in Ibadan to support the vulnerable and less privileged in their care.
Speaking during the programme, the Coordinator, Child Protection Network (CPN) Oyo State, Dr Rosemary Odigbo called on highly spirited individual and philanthropists in the country to extend their support to the less privileged and vulnerable children in our society in order to make them lead meaningful life.
She noted that the initiative aligns with CPN’s core mission to uplift vulnerable children through collaborative support.
“Notably, BoxAid is also a proud partner of the Child Protection Network (CPN) in Nigeria, further solidifying our dedication to uplifting vulnerable populations.
“In Nigeria, BoxAid Global has played a pivotal role in offering support and hope to individuals and communities facing dire circumstances.”
Highlighting the broader impact of BoxAid’s work, Odigbo referenced the story of Ope, a child whose life has been transformed through sustained medical aid and care—an example of the tangible impact of BoxAid’s compassionate intervention.
“Among the many impactful stories is that of Ope, whose remarkable journey exemplifies the organisation’s mission in action. Through targeted interventions, medical aid, and continuous care, Ope’s story has become a testament to the power of compassion and persistence in changing lives.
According to her, the exercise had 32 Organizations recieved items like radio, television clothes, shoes, bags and many house hold items for the use of the children.
“All together, 32 organisations benefited from the scheme, and I want to advise heads of the various organizations who received the items to make good use of them for the betterment of the children.”
While admonishing the receivers of the items to make judicious use of the items, Dr Odigbo expressed confidence that the support will go a long way in addressing some of the issues facing the children in their various homes.
“So many people in the country and in the state have money and other kinds of resources, I urge them to look for organizations like CPN and support their course in order to continue to contribute to the well-being of the children.”
