The Osun State Government has promised to support insurance brokers to actualise its financial management for the progress of the state.
The assurance was recently given by the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke when the president of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Prince Babatunde Oguntade led a delegation of the Council on a visit to the governor in Osogbo.
Senator Adeleke affirmed that the government had always recognised the place of risk management in ensuring that effective utilisation of resources is achieved.
He noted that there was no better time than now to engage the insurance industry, considering the state of the economy, which comes with the need to protect assets owned by individuals and corporate institutions like Osun State.
Governor Adeleke lauded NCRIB for providing the required ethical and professional standards for brokers, which he noted had given the public the needed confidence to patronise the brokers.
He assured of the full commencement of the e-third party insurance in the state that would lead to more effective management of third-party motor liabilities, enhance the vibrancy of the insurance brokers, and by extension, enhance the insurance contributions to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The President of NCRIB had earlier applauded the state for being broker-friendly, urging the Governor to speed up procedures for the full commencement of the e-third party insurance for the advancement of the state.
Prince Oguntade appealed to Governor Adeleke to commence the immediate enforcement of sections 64 and 65 of the Insurance Act concerning compulsory insurance of public buildings and buildings under construction.
The NCRIB President briefed the Governor on the Council’s efforts in strategic engagements with reputable institutions and impacting knowledge on its members to position them for better service to their clients.
