Although headaches generally affect the whole head, and respond to common headache tablets, one-sided throbbing headaches, which usually begin in childhood, adolescence or early adult life are usually due to migraine. Migraine presents such a dramatic and at times confusing sequence of events. Usually, there is a disturbance of vision consisting usually of bright spots or dazzling zigzag lines. Just as soon as they come, they soon begin to recede and within minutes they are followed by throbbing headache, usually one-sided which slowly increases in intensity. You will need to try and figure out what brings on this kind of headache. In some people, it could be consumption of certain kinds of foods, stress, poor vision or an underlying ailment. Your doctor will be able to check your Blood Pressure and eyes among other investigations to know the way forward.
