Ondo APC extends poverty branch to aggrieved members

THE Ondo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Ade Adetimehin, on Wednesday, extended an olive branch to the aggrieved members and factions of the party in the state, appealing to them to close ranks to build a united APC in the state.

Adetimehin who stated this during the inauguration of the newly elected members of the State Working Committee (SWC) and State Executive Council (SEC) of the party, said all hands must be on deck to achieve the dream of winning the 2019 election for President Muhammadu Buhari.

He assured that all members irrespective of the aspirants they worked for would be accommodated by the new leadership of the party to make APC more formidable in the state.

“I want to appeal to all members of our party who defected to other political platforms or got involved in anti-party activities or the other to take the noble step of returning to the party through the prescribed channels.

“We shall not by no means turn you down, we will not victimise or discriminate against them and I urge them to let us work together for the development of our party.”

The new Chairman, however, assured that internal democracy would be practised in the party while he assured all members of open door policy in the day to day running of the activities of the party.

He assured that the new executive would not allow the policy of divide and rule within the party like the previous executive council of the party.

Adetimehin said “it is needless to recount the unwholesome activities and crises that characterized the political atmosphere during the last executive council right from inception and most especially during the gubernatorial primary and election which returned Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the incumbent governor of the state elected.

“The then leadership of the party displayed a condemnable act of sabotage, naked gross indiscipline and irresponsibility by engaging in mindless anti-party activities in order to deny our party and its candidate the deserved victory which was ordained by God.”

The party Chairman charged the newly sworn in executive members to work as one family in order to deliver the state for President Buhari and other candidates of the party in next year’s general election.

Adetimehin said it would be in the interest of the country to return President Buhari to office as he has the credibility and integrity to steer the ship of the country to safe harbour.
