One of the aspirants contesting for the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming elections in Ogun State on the platform of the APC Unity Forum, Chief Bukola Adetula, on Thursday, denied that he has entered agreement to be the running mate of any other candidate, describing such as smear campaign to undermine his ambition.
Adetula in a chat with Tribune Online stated that it is a lie that he has jettisoned his ambition and has accepted to be a running mate to another candidate, adding that any information confirming that from any quarters is a figment of the imagination of the people propagating false information.
He reiterated that his ambition remains unshaken as he awaits the decision of the APC Unity Forum selection committee, stating that the rumour is baseless and he is setting the record straight in regards to his gubernatorial ambition.

“I have gathered that some individuals in a bid to smear my image have started peddling the rumour around the state that I have accepted to be running mate to a certain aspirant and I can only say that those involved in such are those who are threatened by my profile. This is to state emphatically that the rumour is nothing but a figment of the imagination of those who are not comfortable with the progress we have made so far,” he said.
Adetula appealed to his people especially members of the APC and the Unity Forum, to “discountenance the rumour as it is baseless and unfounded” and appealed to all his supporters to keep faith in the project and continue sharing in his aspiration with the good people of Ondo State.
“My governorship aspiration is intact and I strongly believe we shall get there by the grace of God and with support from the good people of Ondo State,” Adetula said, reiterating that he remains a credible alternative.
