Dignitaries to include the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi; Managing Director, Mobil Plc, Mr Tunji Oyebanji; National Chairman, Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) unit of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Otunba Salimon Oladiti and his wife, Olanike, were present as the ninth retail outlet of GASTAB in Ibadan was opened at Ojoo area of the city, on Friday.
The opening of the GASTAB dual mega petrol and gas station, and ultra-modern commercial centre was also witnessed by the Ekefa Olubadan of Ibadan land, Chief Lekan Alabi; the Onpetu of Ijeru, Oba Sunday Oyediran; the Alapomu of Apomu, Oba Kayode Adenekan; Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Sheikh Abdulganiyy Agbotomokekere and renowned Islamic cleric, Sheik Muideen Bello.
Also present at the well-attended opening were governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 elections, Chief Adebayo Adelabu; South-West Zonal Chairman of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Alhaji Lamidi Tajudeen; Seriki Sasa, Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin; legal practitioner, Justice Moshood Abass; former Secretary to the Oyo state government, Chief Sarafadeen Alli; Chief Akinade Fijabi; Dr Yinka Ayefele and a litany of Nollywood artistes.
In his exhortation, Sheik Muideen Bello praised Chairman/Managing Director, GASTAB, Alhaji Saheed Adigun for serving humanity by providing means of livelihood to many he has employed at his various retail outlets.
Bello urged the GASTAB Managing Director to remain thankful to God and be committed to lifting others up just as some people also aided him to attain his present height.
In their separate remarks, the duo of Salmon Akanni and Tunji Oyebanji said they were endeared to the GASTAB boss’ commitment to duty and hardworking nature right from his early years as a tanker driver.
Speaking, the GASTAB boss, Adigun, asserted his resolve to continue to give back to society through the creation of employment opportunities for many Nigerians.
While stating that hard work and being thankful to God is key to his successes in life, Adigun assured that his retail outlets will continue to support the masses by charging among the lowest prices for its various products.
Adigun added that the mosque built as part of the Ojoo outlet is in line with his resolve to remain thankful to God for his achievements in life.
As part of the station opening, free fuel was given to the first 200 vehicles and motorcycles that got into the retail outlet.
The roll call of dignitaries also included South West Regional Manager of Wema Bank, Mr Olaitan Sunday; Chairman, IPMAN, Ibadan, Mr Bukola Mutiu; Alhaji Abdulhammed Kolo who was turbaned Chief Imam, GASTAB Central Mosque; Olojo of Ojo, Alhaji Hamzat Olagboyega; Chief Lateef Oyelade; Alhaji Yisa Onirin; Honourable Sina Alabi; Chief Yemi Senbanjo among others.
