The Olukere of Ikere-Odo Oja, Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Abdulganiyu Ayodele Obasoyin, has congratulated the Governor of the State, Biodun Oyebanji, on being conferred with the Man of the Year award by the management of Silverbird Television.
Speaking with newsmen, the monarch said he was elated that Oyebanji received the prestigious award, describing it as well-deserved and a morale booster for the Governor. He emphasized that the award was not only for the Governor but also for the entire state.
The traditional ruler further noted that he was particularly pleased with the Governor’s achievements across various communities in the state, highlighting Oyebanji’s commitment to executing projects that benefit the people of Ekiti, regardless of party affiliation.

“That is the type of spirit Nigeria needs now to develop our sub-nationals. Oyebanji has demonstrated it,” Olukere said.
While commending the administration’s efforts in road infrastructure, human capital development, free surgical missions, and the renovation of hospitals and schools, Oba Obasoyin joined the call for the Governor’s continuity in office until 2030 to enable him to accomplish even more for the people.
The paramount ruler also appreciated the Governor’s support for traditional institutions in the state, urging him to cap his first tenure with the provision of befitting vehicles for the Obas.
Olukere praised the administration for completing inherited projects and ensuring that newly initiated ones were not abandoned. He encouraged the people of Ekiti to appreciate all that Governor Oyebanji has done for the state so far and to continue supporting him, stressing that as a traditional ruler, he aligns with politics that fosters progress for the populace.
