Oba Francis Olushola Alao, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Ogbomosho Zone, Vice-chairman, Oyo State Council Of Obas and Chiefs has mourned the death of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III.
In a statement, he said, “Confirming the death of Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Iku Baba Yeye got to me as a rude shock. What sad news!

“He left us at a period that the nation needed him most, especially at this time of politicking. “Nigeria lost the encyclopedia of culture and tradition in the person of our amiable chairman of Oyo State Obas Council and Chiefs. A real gem is gone.”
Oba Alao added that the Alaafin “will always be remembered for his wealth of contributions to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria in terms of tradition, culture, politics, social development, doggedness and security challenges facing the nation.”
