Itamapako High School, Iloti, is a school that since it was founded in 1975 has been catering for the secondary education needs of 33 villages around Itamapako area in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The school which has trained over 3000 students had experienced a fall in fortune in terms of infrastructural decay until recently when some of the old students gathered earlier in the year.
The coming together of the old students led to the formation of the Itamapako High School Old Students Association (IHSOSA) under the leadership of Mr Adebayo Adeokun as chairman, board of trustees and Abayomi Abolaji as executive chairman of the association executives, with a focus on turning round the fortunes of the school.
In view of the dilapidated state in which they met the school, a decision was taken to urgently intervene in restoring the school to its former glory as a citadel of learning that will give holistic education.
As a result, some intervention projects were carried out by the old students and handed over to the school on Friday, December 13, 2019.
The projects included a computer laboratory equipped with 10 computers, a printer and a 5 KVA generating set in a project supported by Rotary Club of Gbagada, District 9110 Nigeria, which donated two computer sets, 10 modern toilet facilities with running water and a 6,000 -gallon water borehole fitted with purifying machine to ensure the water is safe for drinking.
