The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), the apex sociopolitical youth group in the South East geopolitical zone, has endorsed Chief Mike Okiro as the best candidate for the exalted position of President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
This endorsement comes after a thorough and careful analysis of the aspirants who have presented themselves for the position.
In a statement jointly endorsed on Thursday in Owerri by the President General of COSEYL, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, and the Women Leader, Chief Mrs Evelyn Okere Onyung, they observed that Chief Mike Okiro, having served meritoriously in various assignments given to him in the past, is the best candidate.
According to them, he is a signature of exemplary and impactful leadership, a beacon of hope, and an innovator who brings fresh and assuring perspectives to the table.
They said, “His actions and activities remind us of the profound impact one individual can have on the collective journey of humanity.”
Ibem said that Chief Okiro is a man who has created a legacy not merely in self-accomplishment but in the lives he has touched and the enduring inspiration he provides to countless people, within and far beyond his circle.
He said, “Whoever is opportune to cross paths with Chief Mike Okiro must acknowledge his understanding, intellectual quotient, dedication to duty, sense of purpose, hardworking spirit, trust in God Almighty, and his genuine concern for humanity, regardless of who you are or where you come from, and he does this with all sense of joy and fulfilment.”
The body insisted that it is for this and many of Okiro’s other exceptional qualities that everyone wants to relate with him.
The youth body maintained that as the representative of the people who want the best for Ndigbo at all times, they can boldly attest to Chief Okiro’s exceptional leadership skills, deep commitment to shared values, and unwavering dedication to the mission of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
He said, “Chief Mike Okiro has demonstrated consistent excellence in service to humanity and has always acted with integrity, humility, transparency, and a passion for the advancement of our collective interests.”
He added that Chief Okiro possesses the vision and practical approach needed to navigate the challenges and opportunities facing Ndigbo, and they are confident that under his leadership, Ndigbo will see growth, unity, development, and progress.
They said, “One of the key strengths of Chief Okiro is that he is a selfless leader who is ready to make sacrifices for the betterment of his people. His antecedents prove that his doors are open to whoever wants to see him, which is a major attribute of a good leader. This, combined with his ability to build strong relationships and create inclusive solutions, makes him the ideal candidate to lead Ndigbo into the future.”
COSEYL observed that in Igbo land, where the need for transformative leadership is urgent, Chief Mike Okiro’s uniqueness is a valuable asset, adding that he is the square peg that will not fit into the round hole of politics-as-usual.
They said that he will shatter the mould, break the barriers, and forge a new path that will take Ndigbo to unprecedented heights.
They said: “We believe Chief Mike Okiro will serve with dedication, inclusivity, and respect for the values that define Ndigbo.”
They wholeheartedly endorse Chief Mike Okiro for the position of President General and encourage all members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in all state chapters and beyond to join them in supporting this worthy candidate and son of Ndigbo who will lead them to the promised land.
