TribuneOnline had reported on Thursday that three persons lost their lives and about 17 persons sustained varying degrees of injuries on both sides during the mayhem.
The deceased, whose head was decapitated and penis, cut off, was identified as one Ebi Alelei (Tontimi), a youth leader from Ogbe-Ijoh.
However, one Joseph Karegha, who was earlier on Thursday declared dead was later said to have regained consciousness miraculously.
Chief Monday Keme, one of the leaders of Ogbe-Ijoh, who messaged TribuneOnline through his Whatsapp handle late Thursday night, disclosed; “He (Karegha) did not die, but was unconscious.”
According to him, “He was declared missing but miraculously came out alive,” adding; “He was shot in several places; has a fractured leg. Please take.”
Meanwhile, the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators for Peace Organization (NDEPO), has called on the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who just returned from his annual leave abroad, to intervene to discourage such dastardly act.
The group, through its coordinator, Comrade George Sinclair, opined that the Thursday senseless killings did not portray the state government in good light – a situation, he said, could discourage investors from patronizing the state.
Comrade Sinclair, who spoke to journalists in ABUJA on Friday according to BigPen Online, bemoaned the parlous state of insecurity in the two local governments without definite checks mechanism.
He expressed fears that if not swiftly nipped in the bud, the trend of violence in the area might degenerate into a full-scale inter-community war.
Sinclair called on the state governor to immediately set up another judicial commission of inquiry to investigate the remote and immediate causes of the unprovoked violence.
TribuneOnline had reported the accusations and counter-accusations between Ogbe Ijoh and Isaba on one side and Aladja on the other over who drew the first sword during Thursday mayhem.
Youth president of Aladja, Comrade Wisdom Onatomre and Chief Monday Keme of Ogbe -Ijoh accused each other of starting the mayhem during a chat.
It will be recalled that as of the time Thursday’s mindless mayhem was laid to rest by security agencies, no fewer than 17 persons were declared injured and three dead.
Commissioner of Police Delta State Command, Ibrahim Zanna, during a chat with TribuneOnline, on Thursday, said he was already in Anambra for the governorship election while promising to get back which he never did.
