Obasanjo
Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Thursday, held a closed door meeting with the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The meeting was reported to have lasted for more than one hour.
Obasanjo while fielding questions from journalists said he was at the Governor’s office to discuss germane issues concerning the development of the State with Abiodun, submitting that the session was a robust one.
He said,” I have come to say Happy New Year to the Governor, and of course, I have not been here since he became the Governor.
“I have come to raise a few issues that I believe are of interest to the development of Ogun State in the area of education, agricultural, rural development and so on. We had a wonderful discussion.
Asked to assess the performance of the Governor in the last eight months, the former president said assessing Abiodun was not part of his mission to Oke-Mosan Office.
” I am not here to assess the Governor. I am just here to do promotion, promotion of what we move Ogun State forward,” he added.
