It was a splendid evening few days ago in Lagos as some Americans and diplomats invited the high and mighty, youth representatives and technocrats in Nigeria to their 243rd Independence celebration in Lagos.
The event held at the Ikoyi, Lagos residence of the Consular General, Mr John Bray with a member of the God Bless and Ebony band singing the Nigerian national anthem, while lead singer, Yinka Davies delivered sonorous rendition of the American anthem to the delight of the guests and others present.
Consular Bray, as usual did not disappoint with his views, as he made a remarkable speech on behalf of the President of the United States of America, where he touched part of their history as he noted the huge sacrifice America made to achieve the liberty the citizens cherish and will never give away.
