National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Chris Isiguzo has advocated for constitutional roles for traditional institutions in the country saying that traditional rulers as custodians of the unique role that is towards the maintenance of peace in various communities need support and authority to do so.
The NUJ President who paid a royal visit to the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu called on members of the National Assembly to provide constitutional backing to the traditional rulers to enable them to contribute towards building peace and sustain peaceful coexistence among their various communities.

Chris Isiguzo commended the Emir for supporting working Journalists in the state and urged him to extend such support to the Zone and National body of the Union to enable the practitioners to perform their professional and civil social responsibilities.
In his response, The Emir of Bauchi, Alh Dr Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu described Journalists as major pillars of development in any society stressing that their roles in the society cannot be overemphasised.
The Emir explained that Journalists have a big role to play towards the development of any nation, hence the need to partner with them for meaningful projects.
The Emir urged journalists to always observe the ethics of the profession while performing their duties and thanked the NUJ President and his entourage for the visit.
The NUJ President was accompanied to the palace by the Bauchi State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Dr Ladan Salihu, Deputy National President and SSA Media to the State Governor, Comrade Muhktar Gidado and some National and Bauchi state officers of the Union.
