National Productivity Centre (NPC) has launched an empowerment programme worth N900 million, targeting 10,000 women and youths from seven Northwestern states in Nigeria.
According to the Director-General of NPC, Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, this initiative aims to promote self-reliance and support small-scale businesses.
The programme, supported by Engineer Abba Bichi, will distribute empowerment items such as motorcycles, sewing machines, and food items. Dan Agundi emphasized that due process will be followed to ensure the gesture reaches the grassroots politicians.
The NPC also plans to initiate clusters to enable youths to become self-reliant and employers of labor. A committee has been constituted to fine-tune the modalities of the takeoff of the small-scale businesses aimed at empowering the youths.
In addition, another empowerment programme worth N10 billion is scheduled to be executed later this year, with the President Tinubu Support Groups (TSG) expected to benefit.
Dan Agundi praised Engineer Abba Bichi’s generosity and urged politicians to emulate his example. He also lauded the exemplary leadership of the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje , and Kano State Chairman of the Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas.
