Kasali, who is the General Overseer of the Hour of Mercy Prayer Ministry Worldwide(Oke Alaseyori), said taking of an Islamic Bank
can’t be suffice to conclude that Nigeria was on the verge of being
fully islamised.
The cleric also said the 2018 governorship election in Ekiti State would be full of surprises, saying “mighty men will fall flatly for God to bring a man after his heart to succeed Governor Ayodele Fayose”.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), had last week condemned the Federal Government for mooting the idea of taking N100 billion Sukuk Loan to provide road infrastructure through the Ministry of Works, Power and Housing, saying it was an alleged clandestine way to rail-road Nigeria into being a full-fledged Islamic State.
Speaking in Odo Owa Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Saturday at the conclusion of a weeklong revival organised by the Ministry in the town, Kasali said no President, no matter how powerful and influential can make a secular country like Nigeria an Islamic State.
Commenting on the resentment of the CAN against the federal government’s intention to take the loan, Kasali said: “Anyone trying to islamise Nigeria will perish. But I want to believe that taking of loan is not enough to make Nigeria an Islamic State, so no cause for alarm. I believe in the unity of this country and God who created Nigeria like this can’t make mistake.
On the 2018 election in Ekiti, the man of God said: “Powerful people will be rendered useless. This State belongs to God and he is ready to intervene in the affairs of the state in 2018 and there will be surprises”, he said.
On the raging agitations for restructuring, the cleric stated that: “If you marry a wife for 57 years , you will be expecting some fruits. You will expect her to have borne grown up fruits, so those advocating for restructuring might not have been wrong.
