The management of BIC has assured that despite the gale of exits of multinationals, occasioned by the nation’s not-too-business-friendly terrain, the global manufacturing company is in Nigeria for the long haul.
This assurance was given in Lagos, at a media briefing held by the company to announce the appointment of Anthony Amahwe, its new General Manager, now saddled with the responsibility to lead the Nigerian operations of the company.
The company described the move as ‘strategic’ since it underscores its commitment to driving sustainable growth, innovation, and leadership excellence in the region.
“With a diverse background spanning regional, national and international markets, Amahwe will lead BIC’s strategic efforts in Nigeria. His dynamic skill set and proven track record in strategic leadership have consistently driven business success,” BIC added.
Unveiling his plans to the media, Amahwe stated that his focus will be on harnessing the rich opportunities in the Nigerian market by leveraging BIC’s legacy of excellence, commitment to sustainability, and dedication to delivering exceptional value to our customers.
“Nigeria is a big market, with a lot of potential for individuals and businesses, and what others see as challenges, we see them as opportunities. That, no doubt, explains our continued investment in the business climate because we are here to stay.
“I am excited to lead the talented team in Nigeria and to drive strategies that will enhance our market presence and positively impact local content, job creation, and the local economy. We will build on BIC’s strong foundation to unlock new avenues for growth and continue to innovate in ways that resonate with the needs and aspirations of the communities we serve,” he added.
