There’s nothing satisfying as a plate of pasta. Whether it’s spaghetti, penne, macaroni, or fusilli, pasta is simple, versatile, and satisfying. Beyond its taste, it’s also packed with energy-giving complex carbohydrates, along with protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. When paired with a good sauce, vegetables, or protein, it transforms into a balanced, nourishing meal.
Here’s how to prepare pasta perfectly at home:
Ingredients
•Pasta (any preferred type)
•Hot water
•Salt
•Cooking oil (optional)
•Sauce or stew of choice (tomato sauce, creamy sauce, stir-fried vegetables, or chicken stew)
Preparation
•Place a pot on medium heat, add 4 cups of water, salt, and a teaspoon of oil, then bring to a boil.
•Pour in your pasta and stir gently to prevent sticking.
•Allow pasta to cook for 8–12 minutes, depending on the type. It should be soft but still slightly firm
•Once cooked, pour pasta into a sieve or colander to remove the hot water.
•Run little cold water over pasta to stop further cooking and keep it from clumping together.
•Pair pasta with your favourite sauce or stew. You can also toss it with vegetables, chicken, or seafood for a fuller meal.
Note:
Always use enough water to keep pasta from sticking.
Avoid overcooking, perfect pasta should be slightly firm, not mushy.
