The head office of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) in Abuja was thrown into confusion as the staff of the government agency shut down the office building in protest against the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General.
The Presidency, through Presidential Spokesman Chief Ajuri Ngelale, announced that President Bola Tinubu had made some changes in the leadership of communication agencies, including NIPOST.
Moments after the news of Odeyemi’s appointment broke, there were reports that Adepoju, the sacked Postmaster-General, had been reinstated.
In a video that went viral on social media, the sacked Adepoju was seen addressing some workers, claiming President Tinubu had reappointed him. A development that caused a lot of confusion in NIPOST
On Monday, protesting workers prevented the newly appointed NIPOST CEO from entering the office, saying her appointment was against their wishes.
