A Niger Delta-based Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) and Kano State Civil Societies Forum (KCSF) have agreed to partner in organizing a National Conference that would focus on peace-building and security between the north and the south.
National Coordinator and CEO of CEPEJ, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, made the disclosure during a familiarization and working visit to KCFS in Kano State.
Comrade Mulade said he was in the state to discuss critical national issues such as peaceful coexistence, security, as well as the need for Early Warning System in the North West region of Nigeria.
He thanked and Kano State Civil Societies Forum for the warm reception, and promised to partner with the group in organizing the National Conference with a focus on peace building across borders.
Meanwhile, Prisedent of the Kano Civil Societies Forum, Ibrahim Wayya, who thanked Comrade Mulade for the visit, his efforts towards peace building, environmental management as well as tackling insecurity in the country, promised to give a maximum support and cooperation to CEPEJ’s activities in Kano State.
Wayya informed Mulade that the forum is in partnership with the Kano State government, the British Council, educational institutions, as well as the Emirates of Kano, among other bodies.
He stressed the need to train members of the KCSF to enable them benefit from Comrade Mulade wealth of experiences in the stated intervention areas.
