The Niger State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, led by its Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Alhaji Bello Bako has commended the Chairman of Lavun Local Government Council, Hon. Isah Mohammed, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to grassroots development.
In continuation of the committee’s oversight has visited Mokwa, Edati and Lavun local government areas.

The visit was aimed at monitoring the activities of local government councils, ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.
During the visit, members of the committee advised council chairmen to focus on projects that have direct bearing on their communities, promoting the well-being and prosperity of the people.
The Committee Chairman said the oversight visit reflects the committee’s dedication to strengthening governance and enhancing effective administration at the local level, by working together with local government councils, the committee aims to foster a more transparent and accountable system of governance.
In their separate remarks, the Chairmen of Mokwa, Edati and Lavun local government Councils , Hon. Jibrin Abdullahi Muregi, Hon. Sunday Daniel Yisa and Hon.Isah Mohammed, appreciated the Committee for the visit, which they believe will help them put their records straight.
They assured the Committee that they will continue to execute meaningful developmental projects that will have direct impact on the people to compliment the New Niger Agenda of the present administration in the state.
