To harness the potential of the investment of Nigerians in the diaspora on the development of the country, stakeholders in the diaspora sector are set to discuss the potential of foreign investment in the South-West geopolitical zone of the country.
The event slated for January 21 at Alausa Ikeja is organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) in collaboration with Gconsulting International Services Ltd.
Stakeholders in the diaspora sector are expected to chart ways to influence more diasporan remittances and harness them for the growth of Nigeria’s economy.
The theme of the event is “Sensitisation and Advocacy for Promoting Diaspora Investment Potential in South-West Nigeria.”
According to NIDCOM, in a letter signed by its Chairperson, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the CEO of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Dr Babatunde Adeyemo, is expected to deliver a keynote address on “Success Stories and Best Practices from Diaspora Investments in Real Estate.”
The letter reads in part, “This is an initiative organised by NiDCOM in collaboration with Gconsulting International Services Ltd. It seeks to highlight the vast opportunities in the South-West region and foster greater diaspora engagement in strategic investments.
“As a leading figure in the real estate sector in Nigeria, your insights and vision will set the tone for discussions aimed at unlocking the potential of diaspora investment in key sectors, particularly the real estate sector.”
