Nigeria Farmers Group (NFG) and Cooperative Society has declared its support for interested Nigerians in diaspora who seek to own farms in Nigeria.
According to the group’s National Coordinator/Secretary-General, Mr. Retson Tedheke “No matter your location in Nigeria or abroad you can own a farm”, adding that the cooperative would assist them in the management of the investment.
While highlighting the major challenges facing the group, Tedheke pin-pointed the herdsmen/farmers clashes in the area, adding that the group held regular meetings with the herders and hired some of their young ones as security guards to curb the hazard.

He also singled out the inadequate power supply in the area as another major challenge facing the cooperative, noting that they employ the use of standby diesel generators on their farms.
He further blamed past administrations for neglecting the agricultural sector which led to the nation’s economic deterioration and high dependence on foreign products.
“If agriculture was given priority and we have a manufacturing economy, we would have been exporting finished goods and earning foreign exchange.” He noted.
